Disadvantages of Social media in Education:

Social media also have disadvantages in Education Industry. Let’s see them.

1. Overreliance on the Internet:

The students are so used to searching the web for answers that they cannot rely on themselves to come up with an appropriate answer. It is not uncommon for students to cheat on exams at many universities. In tests, students frequently use the internet and their electronic devices to find answers.

2. Poor writing among students:

There are many abbreviations used on social media by students. Eventually this leads to such a state that even in writing an essay one may not be able to differentiate between “your” and “yours.” In this era of abbreviations, learning proper writing skills is not encouraged.

3. Corrupt morals:

In my opinion, you have a social media account or you at least used to have one. A person’s social media account has a few filters, but they don’t limit what they post. Sharing pornographic content is possible due to this freedom. Student behavior has evolved, and students are engaging in activities that were once considered evil, but now are viewed positively, such as the use of drugs.

4. Distraction:

Distraction and hindrance to the mind are major factors due to social media platforms. The students of today are more inclined to browse social media while studying than to focus on their studies. The result is a total waste of time without a single benefit gained. Due to their increased interest in using social media platforms, students have difficulty submitting their work in the specified time frame.

5. Impact on Health:

One’s health can be affected both physically and mentally by using social media sites without due care. By not taking their meals on time, not getting proper rest and being glued to their phones or laptops, students can also cause their eyes to suffer. It is possible that excessive use of social media can negatively impact students’ minds and they may also develop bad posture, eye strain, and physical and mental stress as a result.

Conclusion:

Social media does not always have a positive effect on education. You can use it to collaborate with others on a project, or you can use it to distract you. As a student, how you choose to use it will ultimately determine its effectiveness.

So, this was all my point of view about Social media Influence on Education Industry. Thanks for reading.
